As much as Phaeton is Volkswagen'sshowcase car, the Glaserne Manufaktur in Dresden is a showcase plant. While luxury cars are assembled here every day, calling it a factory doesn't seem right. VW invested nearly $200 million in the facility on Strassburger Platz adjacent to Dresden's botanical gardens.
