GM is building specialty cars in-house to develop performance engineers. Honda puts its gearheads on racing programs. Which is the way to go? GM will fiddle with in-house specialty cars until it hits a period when: a) it's not politically correct; b) the CEO is replaced; c) the CEO's wife disagrees; d) the assigned bean counter hiccups.
