We've been talking about it for eight months (AW, Dec. 10, 2001), but now BMW chairman Helmut Panke-on the occasion of his first tour of the States since taking the helm at the German automaker-is confirming plans for the forthcoming 6 Series. Panke confirmed what we knew-convertible and coupe versions of the 6 Series will arrive in the United States in 2003-but he also promised BMW is seriously considering building a performance M6.
