At the launch of the redesigned 2003 Mercedes-Benz CLK, we were told there would be no cabrio available until next year as an '04 model. As evidenced by this photo taken at the Munich airport, work on the next CLK drop-top is progressing quite well. Mercedes engineers spent a lot of time reworking the chassis and body on the CLK sedan with claims that it's 40 percent stiffer than the car it replaced, and we would expect this will in turn greatly benefit the convertible version.
