Byline: MATT DAVIS It's not one of Giorgio Giugiaro's better known prototypes, but probably only because it got blown up soon after being sold in 1970. The VW Porsche Tapiro was unveiled at the 1970 Turin motor show alongside the Pininfarina Modulo and Bertone Stratos. Using the Porsche 914/916 architecture, it is often cited by Giorgio's son Fabrizio as the starting point for his informal initiation in automotive design.
