The CART paddock at Laguna Seca was the forum for another round of speculation regarding Bernie Ecclestone's alleged takeover of CART-largely because F1 czar Ecclestone had another lengthy meeting with CART CEO Chris Pook. Pook spent Friday in the F1 paddock in Montreal with Ecclestone. As usual, Pook refused to either quash or substantiate rumors that, with the help of team owner Gerald Forsythe (pictured above), Ecclestone is preparing to assume control of CART by acquiring a majority of its stock.
