Behind the satisfaction of winning his first Indy Racing League event of the season, Sam Hornish Jr. celebrated many things: Kentucky was his record-breaking ninth career IRL win. He pulled within 77 points of Tony Kanaan for what could be his third-straight league championship. His Panther Racing crew was rewarded for its patience and hard work in converting the Dallara from the Gen III engine to the Gen IV in relatively short order.
