They spent $12 million reconfiguring (for the third time!) the Homestead-Miami Speedway. They repaved all 1.5 miles, bumped its banking from six degrees to 20 degrees, and shaped three distinctive grooves. If the last-ever Winston Cup race is any gauge, Bill France's money was well spent. Twelve drivers swapped the lead 21 times (only six for 12 last year) before Bobby Labonte won the Ford 400.
