Posey wins first Bob Akin award Former race driver Sam Posey was presented the inaugural Bob Akin Motorsports Award (AW, April 12) by the Road Racing Drivers Club at Watkins Glen. Posey, 60, is known for his versatility as a driver, author, designer, architect and television commentator. The RRDC conceived the award to honor the memory of longtime member Bob Akin, who died in a racing accident in 2002.

Posey was selected to receive the award by Bobby Akin, RRDC president Bobby Rahal, and RRDC members Brian Redman and vintage driver Archie Urciuoli. Heinricy in GM Performance ...
