Byline: BILL McGUIRE The Sports Car Club of America likes to call the Runoffs "the Olympics of motorsports.'' Amateur road racers come from all over America to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course to compete in their national championship races. To underline the metaphor, the top finishers in each of the 24 classes are awarded gold, silver and bronze medals for their efforts.

But with a record 700-plus entries this year, with their colorful and often ragtag collection of transporters, campers, tents and canopies overflowing the paddock and stretching out over the track's south 40, another image came to mind: Woodstock.
