Bimmer bummer An AutoWeek cover car should elicit lust, but the new BMW 3 Series (Feb. 14) doesn't. Maybe it's the high beltline and smaller greenhouse, or the "Dame Edna'' front-end styling. I've owned BMWs since 1969, but my next car may be an Infiniti. I can't get excited when the top 3 comes with only 255 hp and 220 lb-ft of torque. Even the Toyota Avalon has 280 hp and 260 lb-ft, while Infiniti offers a 4.5-liter 335-hp V8 in the M45 and a 280-hp six-speed V6 ...
