Conservative tactic wins in Grand-Am.(Competition)
Defending Grand-Am co-champion Scott Pruett held off current Daytona Prototype points co-leader Max Angelelli by 0.096 second to take his first win of the season in the Grand-Am race at California Speedway. The margin of victory is the closest in Grand-Am series history. Driving a Lexus-powered Riley, Pruett took the lead from Michael Valiante when the Canadian pitted for fuel and tires.
