Designer reunion Hot-shot designer Freeman Thomas, who resigned from Chrysler's Pacifica studio in California on April 21 (AW, May 2), is reuniting with former Volkswagen colleague J Mays. Thomas will take over June 1 as director of strategic design at Ford's California studio. Thomas, whose work for Chrysler includes the Viper-powered Dodge Tomahawk motorcycle, worked with Ford design veep Mays on the Volkswagen New Beetle and Audi TT concepts when both were at VW's California studio.
