Byline: LARRY EDSALL With vehicles as old as an 1897 Leon Bollee tandem seater, and with motorists and many spectators wearing period clothing, the centennial celebration of the final Gordon Bennett Cup race provided a time warp to the early days of the automobile. It also served as a graphic reminder that just starting a car, let alone racing one, involved much more than a simple turn of a key or the flip of a switch.
