Byline: AL PEARCE With time to kill before Bristol's nighttime start, several NASCAR-watchers were debating when Dale Earnhardt Jr. would get lapped in the Food City 500. The over/under was 45 laps, but only if the race stayed green until then. That speaks volumes about Junior's season here lately: people arguing over when he had become irrelevant at Bristol Motor Speedway.

For the record, pole and race winner Matt Kenseth lapped Earnhardt first at 54. Moments later, under a convenient caution, Junior got it back. Kenseth lapped him again at 126, only to have Junior get past him ...
