Will Kansas get it? NASCAR has heard proposals and toured the cities hoping to land its Hall of Fame. It's thought that Kansas City will beat Atlanta, Charlotte, Daytona Beach and Richmond for the attraction. Atlanta and Charlotte have tracks owned by NASCAR nemesis Bruton Smith; another attraction in Daytona Beach would drain tourists and money from Daytona USA; Richmond, with an ISC track, never was a serious contender.
