Blowing Nitro Dodge has confirmed what we've said since February-the Nitro sport/utility vehicle will join the lineup as a 2007 model. Production likelihood for Nitro has been an open secret since its debut as a "concept'' at the Chicago auto show earlier this year. The five-seat Nitro rides on a stretched Jeep Liberty four-wheel-drive chassis and is powered by a 3.7-liter, 210-hp, 235-lb-ft V6 hooked to a five-speed automatic transmission.

Inside the concept, the rear cargo tray that folds out might make its way into production. Look for Nitro in showrooms by early 2007. ...
