ALONSO SIGNS WITH MCLAREN.(Competition)

The 2005 Formula One world champion, Fernando Alonso, announced he will leave Renault and switch to McLaren in 2007. The deal came days after McLaren announced a new sponsorship deal with mobile telephone network supplier Vodafone for 2007. Alonso, who was expected to stay at Renault after his contract ran out at the end of next season, used marginal platitudes to justify his move.
