MAKING IT REAL; GM commits to 100 fuel-cell cars in '07.(News)

Byline: KEVIN A. WILSON General Motors will put 100 fuel-cell electric Chevrolet Equinox crossover vehicles into the hands of American customers-"teachers, engineers and businesses''-starting next fall for periods of three to 30 months. Distribution through Chevrolet dealers begins in the third quarter of 2007 for Project Driveway, a global market test with an eye toward commercializing the technology in the next decade.
