PETERHANSEL WINS DAKAR.(Competition)

Mitsubishi claimed a seventh straight win on the Dakar Rally, after Stephane Peterhansel won the event for the third time in four years. Last year's winner and former downhill skier Luc Alphand was second in an identical Mitsubishi Pajero/Montero Evolution. Frenchman Jean-Louis Schlesser drove his privately run Schlesser-Ford buggy to an excellent third place, while American Mark Miller finished fourth.
