FORD QUITS CHAMP CAR.(Competition)

Ford, affiliated with Champ Car for decades, is severing ties with the open-wheel series. The official announcement from Steve Johnson, Champ Car president, sounded benign. "Today's decision was made from a business standpoint on both sides and in no way should tarnish the long legacy of success that the Ford Motor Company has established in Champ Car competition.'' But on the Ford side, the parting seems slightly more contentious.
