Ford driver Jari-Matti Latvala, 22, became the youngest driver ever to win a World Rally Championship event, after a dominant performance in Sweden, where he led from start to finish.
The Finn beat the record set by his compatriot, Henri Toivonen, who won the 1980 RAC Rally in Britain at 24 years old. Toivonen- considered by many to be the fastest rally driver of all time-died in an accident during the 1986 Corsica Rally, when his Lancia plunged off the road and burst into flames.
