Before throwing out last year's dress and heading to stores for a new one, prom-goers should stop by Geneva Public Library. Yes, the library. Jamie Weaver, young adult librarian and teen events coordinator, is organizing the facility's first prom dress resale. The event is set for 1 to 3 p.m.
Sunday in the lower level of the Geneva library, 127 James St. Several girls have registered to model their gowns and party dresses in hopes of selling them at a reduced price. One teen has five dresses, and more prom fashions are welcome, Weaver said. Anyone from Geneva and elsewhere who wants to sell one or more dresses can sign up through Saturday at the reference desk or by calling the library at (630) 232-0780, ext. 251.
