Elgin's Pilkington commits to D-II Christian Brothers; Maroons roll 10-0.(Sports)

Elgin's Megan Pilkington was looking for four things when she set out to choose a college: size, academics, a place she could play softball and a nice campus. She found all four to her liking at Christian Brothers University, an NCAA Division II school in Memphis, Tenn. Pilkington this week signed a national letter of intent to accept a partial softball scholarship at Christian Brothers.

In addition to the partial softball scholarship. Pilkington, who starts at shortstop for the Maroons and who plays for the Elgin Heat 18 & under summer travel team, has also been named a Trustee Scholar and will receive an academic scholarship as well.
