Itasca gymnast Elizabeth Tricase, an eighth-grader at Peacock Junior High School, will compete at the Junior Olympic National Championship this weekend at Michigan State University in Lansing. Elizabeth, the daughter of Pino and Shelia Tricase, won the chance to compete at nationals after she won first place in the 13- year-old division at the Junior Olympic Regionals in Indianapolis on April 15.
At regionals, Elizabeth competed in the floor exercise, balance beam, uneven parallel bars and vault against 20 other gymnasts from Illinois, Michigan, Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana.
