Hersey Hawkins wants no part of a Bradley University reunion in Vancouver. Dick Versace, Hawkins' college coach at Bradley, took over basketball operations for the Grizzlies when Michael Heisley officially became team owner. So far, Versace's hires have included former Bradley assistant Tony Barone and former player Mitchell Anderson.
The Vancouver Sun reported a three-way trade has been discussed between the Bulls, Grizzlies and Miami Heat. Hawkins would go to Vancouver, Doug West to Miami and Dan Majerle to the Bulls. Majerle has a team option for $3.7 million next season. In this scenario, the Bulls would simply waive Majerle and gain $4.6 million in cap room by losing the final year of Hawkins' contract.
