Similar to learning to walk or read, developing coping skills and a concept of self-worth can be taught in small increments. That is the logic behind the Quest Program, now in its ninth year at St. Joan of Arc Catholic School in Lisle. The program is designed to help young people prepare for their future by developing a wide range of essential life skills.
"The whole point is to make it something that is not just taught in school, but something that students will use throughout their lives," said Lisle resident Mary Ann Leonard, who is being trained to teach the program in the school's middle grades.
