THE BRIEFS Des Plaines senior center selling celebrity cookbooks as fund- raiser The Des Plaines Community Senior Center has published a cookbook entitled "Celebrating the Millennium" that features 354 recipes from community seniors, residents, local, state and national legislators, former U.S.
Presidents and television and movie celebrities. The books are $10 each, and proceeds go to the senior center's campaign to raise money to pay for an addition to their current quarters at Prairie Lakes Park and Community Center. Publication of the cookbook was supported by various local businesses and community organizations. Books include cooking tips and easy-to-read recipes and information about the senior center.
