BorgWarner joins exchange LOMBARD - BorgWarner Inc. said it has joined Covisint, a business-to-business Internet trade exchange created by several major automakers. The Chicago-based company also said it formed a number of partnerships to maximize the effectiveness of its electronic business strategy, a market it sees as a new way to achieve its growth goals.

Formed by Ford Motor Co., General Motors Corp., DaimlerChrysler AG, Renault S.A. and Nissan Motor Company Ltd., Covisint will be an independent company. It will use a single global portal to eliminate redundant investments by suppliers.
