Byline: Elisabeth Mistretta Daily Herald Staff Writer AIT Worldwide Logistics in Itasca is sponsoring the U.S. Bobsled and Skeleton Federation by providing an essential service: shipping. "What other athletes, besides equestrians, have to ship such large equipment?" said Brian Shimer, driver for the men's bobsled and skeleton team.
(Skeleton is head-first luge.) "We don't want to show up at the World Cup (in Germany later this month) and not have our equipment," Shimer said. AIT has previously sponsored local events, such as the Making Strides for Breast Cancer marathon. AIT co-founder Steven Leturno says this is their largest sponsorship to date.
