Byline: Teresa Mask Daily Herald Staff Writer Procrastinators take note: If you need to ship Christmas packages across the country, time is running out. Shipping something internationally? Time really is slipping away. But never fear, last-minute packages still can be delivered by Christmas Day to most major metropolitan areas via Express Mail.

And some locations, such as Mail Boxes Etc. in Arlington Heights, will be open the morning of Christmas Eve. "With the final days leading up to Christmas, we're really encouraging our customers to use Express Mail," said Tim Ratliff, manager of communications for the Northern Illinois District of the U.S. Postal Service.
