Byline: Dave Boe Background: The mid-size Regal is one of four front-wheel-drive sedan in Buick's 2001 product line up. Joining Regal are the mid- size Century, up-level LeSabre and top-of-the-line Park Avenue. Slow-selling two-door Regals were dropped in 1997, the same year sedan versions received their last major overhaul.

The next major Regal redesign won't happen for a couple of years. Not much changes for the 2001 Regal from the previous year. While parent company General Motors said recently that it's phasing out the 103-year-old Oldsmobile division because of lackluster sales, Buick's sales and profitability have been stable throughout recent times.
