Byline: Michael Levine Daily Herald Staff Writer The Palatine post office is getting a stamp of approval from the U.S. Postal Service, which chose the Palatine office as its sole northern Illinois protege to unveil the 2001 Black Heritage stamp series. "It's a great honor," said Richard Griffin, a Diversity Committee specialist at the Palatine post office.
"Even though it is Black History Month, it is indeed American history and (what black Americans have done for this country) is something every American can be proud of."
