Byline: Kim Mikus A mother's seven-year battle with cancer has inspired her daughter to help other cancer victims. Debra Huck's mother, Carol Zimmerman, died two years ago after suffering from breast cancer, which later spread to her liver. Huck, who runs Ultimate Looks, 212 W. Main St., Unit 3 in Cary, continues to expand her combination hair salon and wig shop based on her mother's experiences.
The salon, which has been in operation for several years, features a private area where wigs are sold to cancer patients. Like many cancer patients, Huck's mother, had a difficult time undergoing treatments which often cause hair loss. Finding a wig, hats or hairpieces can be a humiliating experience for women.
