Byline: Jamie Sotonoff Daily Herald Staff Writer No need to crowd into the Allstate Arena or head downtown - the circus is coming to Palatine. The Kelly Miller Circus will set up its big top and perform two shows Sept. 17. The shows will be held at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., rain or shine, in the west lot of the Grossinger Chevrolet dealership at Rand and Lake-Cook roads.
The show will feature high-wire acts, elephant and pony rides, trapeze bars, clowns and other family-oriented entertainment. People also are invited to come watch the circus setup. Between 7:30 and 9 a.m., the public can see the animals being unloaded and fed, and watch the elephants pull the ropes and set up the tent. Guides will be furnished to explain what is going on.
