Auto dealer case dismissed: A charge of felony theft against a Vernon Township auto dealer was dismissed Wednesday in Lake County Circuit Court. Gerald DuPaw, 44, of 26851 Longmeadow Circle, Mundelein, was arrested June 29 by Lake County sheriff's police after the owner of a 1997 Dodge van sold on consignment at DuPaw's Chicago Car Sales, 26200 Route 60, complained he did not receive the proceeds of the sale.

Assistant State's Attorney Torrie Newsome said the case against DuPaw was dropped because he has made arrangements to pay the van's owner in full.
