Trustee defends vote against Aunt Martha's I am responding to recent accusation that I was being arrogant because I would not agree to support the establishment of an Aunt Martha's Youth Service in Carpentersville. Aunt Martha's is a social service agency that offers programs and services to children, teens and their family members.

The reason I voted not to support Aunt Martha's Youth Service was due to concerns raised by a trustee that Aunt Martha's is associated with an organization called GLAD (Gays and Lesbians Advocating Diversity). I cautioned the board and asked that this matter be tabled until staff could investigate the allegations being raised concerning GLAD.
