Kane County clerk joins race for seat on board from Elburn.(News)

Byline: Alicia Fabbre Daily Herald Staff Writer Kane County Clerk Bernadine "Bunny" Murphy is setting her sights on a county board seat in 2001. Murphy on Tuesday announced she will seek the Republican nomination in the March primary to represent the Elburn area on the county board. She will be running against incumbent Jan Carlson, who is seeking election to a third term.
"I feel I can represent the citizens and be responsive to all the citizens' needs," Murphy said. Murphy began running the county clerk's office in 1999 after then-county clerk Lorraine Sava suffered a brain aneurysm at work. The county board appointed Murphy as clerk in February after Sava retired. Murphy, 60, recently decided she would not seek election as county clerk next year....
