Durkin is GOP's best choice for Senate Three Republicans are seeking their party's nomination for the U.S. Senate in the March 19 primary and with it the opportunity to square off in November against incumbent Dick Durbin. James B. Durkin, an attorney; and James D. Oberweis, a businessman and investment manager. Durkin, of Westchester, is endorsed, primarily on the strength of his track record as a state legislator.
