Byline: Beth Sneller Daily Herald Staff Writer Back in the day, Hula-Hooping was an art. Young girls would spend hours in their basements perfecting their moves, which involve gyrating one's hips in a circular motion to keep a plastic hoop from falling to the floor. But as students at Lisle's Benedictine University demonstrated Monday, the Hula-Hoop just isn't as popular as it used to be.
At least not for 19-year-olds. In conjunction with the school's weeklong Springfest 2002 "i don't wanna grow up" theme (their spelling, not ours), the university sponsored Hula-Hoop and jump-rope contests over lunch hour.
