Park district honors MacArthur students The Hoffman Estates Park District dedicated a wetland area behind MacArthur School, 1800 Chippendale Road, for the students of the school Friday. A permanent plaque now proclaims it as a Natural Area Enhanced by the Children of MacArthur School. The students planted native species in the wetland.

Kiwanis Club awards five scholarships The Kiwanis Club of Hoffman Estates-Schaumburg has awarded five $500 college scholarships to area graduating high school seniors for their commitment to community service. The winners include Schaumburg High School students Gregory Dorgan, Mark Gajjar, Tanvi Shah and Douglas Wynn, and Hoffman Estates High School student Jalpa Patel.
