- Alexandra Scarpello, 12, of Grayslake, has been chosen as a state finalist in the Miss Illinois Pre-Teen American Coed pageant, Friday and Saturday at the Wyndam Northwest Chicago hotel in Itasca. The winner of the pageant will receive a $500 cash award, the official crown and banner, a bouquet of flowers, and a travel allowance and sponsor fee to compete in the national pageant.
