Northrop system passes Air Force tests ROLLING MEADOWS - Northrop Grumman Corp. said limited production has begun on its Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures system, after successful U.S. Air Force live-missile fire tests. The Air Force chose the system to protect its transport aircraft from the threat of heat-seeking missiles.
