Byline: Mick Zawislak Daily Herald Staff Writer Building and zoning codes may be tough in Vernon Hills, but they aren't enough to keep a Hooters restaurant from opening in the former Pizzeria Uno along busy Route 21. Village trustees were spared having to bare their thoughts on the propriety of the tightly-clad Hooters Girls in family friendly Vernon Hills, and instead deferred to legal advice Tuesday in deciding to move ahead with approval.
"Generally speaking, it's our opinion we have very, very limited ability to deny Hooters this location they're proposing," said John Kalmar, assistant village manager.
