Byline: Dave Mann and Sara Burnett Daily Herald Staff Writers Friends of Cary-Grove High School freshman Elizabeth Dolak, who was struck and killed by a car as she crossed Randall Road in Lake in the Hills to help her family place election signs, gathered Tuesday to remember her with pictures, stories and videotape.
Dolak, 15, of Cary, was with her father and uncle Monday putting up campaign signs for Republican state Treasurer Judy Baar Topinka around 7:30 p.m. when she crossed Randall Road at Acorn Lane. Her father stayed on the east side of Randall Road, while Dolak and her uncle crossed, Lake in the Hills Police Chief Jim Wales said.
