Nissan joins crossover craze with Murano.(Auto Plus)

Byline: Dave Boe Nissan's latest entry to its ever-growing product lineup, the all-new 2003 Murano, starts arriving at Chicago area dealers in December. It's another "crossover" type vehicle combining the looks of a sport utility vehicle with the handling and better fuel economy of a car.

The mid-size Murano's SUV-like body is built on the highly- touted, recently redesigned Nissan Altima platform. The sole engine powering the four-door Murano is a 3.5-liter, V-6 engine cranking out 245 horsepower. Two trim levels are offered, both available with either two-wheel, front drive or all-wheel drive.
