Pedestrian, bike path extension could improve safety near Bartlett High.(News)

Byline: Carmen Greco Jr. Daily Herald Staff Writer Wayne Township officials are hoping to extend a pedestrian and bike trail along Schick Road just north of Bartlett High School. Township Highway Commissioner Kenneth Spitz said the township will study the project at the behest of homeowners who want to make it safer for students who walk or ride bikes to the nearby school.
The study on the half-mile path extension will determine its cost and feasibility. Township officials also hope to identify additional money for the project, including potential grant money from DuPage County or the state.
