Delta Air Lines looks to Lisle firm for technology to monitor equipment.(Business)

Mawhorr Lisle-based Smart Signal Corp. recently announced it will supply Delta Air Lines with technology to monitor the engines of the nation's third largest carrier's fleet of planes over the next five years. Smart Signal said the deal is worth millions of dollars but wouldn't get any more specific than that.
Delta chose Smart Signal's technology because it can monitor any brand of engine and can be used to monitor other critical equipment, said Ray Valeika, Delta's senior vice president for technical operations. The Smart Signal package provides early warnings of abnormal operations in plane engines, whether the aircraft is landing, climbing into the sky or cruising.
