Byline: Victoria Pierce Daily Herald Staff Writer Michael Alfonso of Wheaton joined a notorious group accused of murders, terrorism and child pornography Thursday when the FBI placed him on its list of 10 Most Wanted Fugitives. Alfonso, 33, is charged with the June 6, 2001, murder of 28- year-old Genoveva Velasquez of Glendale Heights as she went to work at the McDonald's restaurant on South Naperville Road in Wheaton.
The two had a relationship that Velasquez was trying to end when police say Alfonso confronted her outside the restaurant and shot her five times. Velasquez's death bears resemblance to the 1992 murder of 23- year-old Sumanear Yang of Wheaton. Alfonso was charged with her murder last year, but the indictment was made public by the Kendall...
