Allen Perdue Britton A memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Allen Perdue Britton, Ph.D., of DeKalb, formerly of Ann Arbor, Mich., will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 297 E. Jefferson St., Hampshire. The Rev. Joseph P. Nicolosi will officiate. Born May 25, 1914, in Elgin, the son of Walter and Mary (nee Perdue) Britton, he passed away Monday, Feb.

17, 2003, at Bethany Health and Rehabilitation Center in DeKalb. Interment will be in the Bluff City Cemetery, Elgin. Dr. Britton was a 1932 graduate of Elgin High School and received his B.S. degree with honors in music and his master's degree in education from the University of Illinois.
